Cookie Policy

General Introduction

We use cookies (and similar techniques) when you visit our websites and/or use our mobile applications (apps). In this policy we would like to inform you about which cookies we use and why we do this. We also explain how you can manage those cookies yourself.

This cookie policy applies to all websites and mobile apps of Yucca BV, unless otherwise determined by the specific website or application. This cookie policy can be adjusted at any time, for example if our services or applicable legislation so require. We therefore invite you to always consult the latest version of this policy on our website.

If cookies collect personal data, processing is always done in accordance with Yucca's privacy policy.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small data or text files that are stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit a website or use a mobile app. The cookie files contain unique codes that allow your browser to recognize you, for example, you can be identified as a visitor to our websites on your next visit.

Cookies can be used to optimize the operation and ease of use of websites and mobile apps, such as remembering what is in a shopping cart, supporting users to log in to a website or analyzing traffic on a website to to make it function better. Cookies can also be used to map the user's surfing behavior, so that the content of the website can better meet the user's preferences and needs.

In addition to classic cookies, we also use similar techniques, such as flash cookies, tags, pixels, device fingerprinting, cross-device tracking, HTML5 local storage, JavaScripts, web beacons, software development kits (SDKs), etc. All these techniques are referred to below. with the term “cookies” and are processed in the same way.

Cookies are divided into different categories based on origin, function and lifespan. Chapter 3 of this cookie policy explains which types of cookies are used by Yucca and for what purposes.

Where do cookies come from?

Based on origin, we make a distinction between cookies that we place and manage ourselves (first-party cookies) and cookies that are placed on our websites and mobile apps by third parties (third-party cookies).

Third-party cookies are cookies that are placed by a website other than the website you are visiting. These cookies ensure that certain data is forwarded to third parties following your visit to our websites or use of our mobile apps. The cookies placed by social networking services such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are a good example of this. By placing buttons ("Like" button, "Share" button, etc.) from these social networks on a website, cookies are placed that can track your surfing behavior. But other third parties, such as advertisers, can also place cookies to ensure that you see certain advertisements.

When we allow third parties to place cookies on our websites, we ensure that this is as controlled as possible. These parties must, for example, contractually guarantee a secure connection over which the data is exchanged.

Third party cookies are managed entirely by third parties and Yucca has no control over how these third parties manage the relevant cookies and use the data collected through them. We therefore recommend that you consult the privacy statement and cookie policy of the relevant third parties if you would like more information about this.

What types of cookies do we use and for what purposes?

Different types of cookies can be placed via our various websites and/or mobile apps. The cookies can be divided into different categories:

Category 1: Functionally necessary and analytical cookies

Category 2: Personalization cookies

Category 3: Commercial cookies

Category 4: Social media cookies

Functionally necessary and analytical cookies

Functionally necessary and analytical cookies are at least necessary to make our websites and mobile apps work properly, to improve them and to optimize the user experience.

These cookies are not intended to target any specific individual, but are only used for aggregated statistical and performance purposes. This data is therefore not used for marketing purposes or for third party purposes.

These cookies are set by default and cannot be adjusted, as otherwise we cannot guarantee you the best user experience and it is also possible that certain parts and/or functionalities of our websites and mobile apps do not work (properly).

We use functionally necessary cookies to enable you to navigate through the website and/or use our mobile apps, to use the functions of the website and/or mobile apps and to make choices and selections (such as login names, shopping cart, language choice,...) that you made during your previous visit or previous use of our mobile app so that you do not have to set your preferences again each time you visit.

Analytical cookies collect aggregated data about the use of our websites and mobile apps, such as the number of visitors, which web pages are visited most often and the time users spend on a particular web page. Based on this data we can improve our websites and mobile apps and optimize the user experience. We can also use third-party cookies such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics for this purpose.

Personalization cookies

These cookies track your clicking and surfing behavior on our websites and/or apps, e.g. which pages you visited and which articles you read or which things you have clicked. This allows us to compile a user profile of you and the content of the website and advertisements for Yucca products and services can be tailored to your needs, interests and preferences.

These cookies do not track you on any website or mobile app not affiliated with Yucca and do not in any way serve the interests of third parties. This means that these cookies are not used to offer you advertisements for products and services commercialized by third parties, nor are they passed on to third parties for their own purposes.

We ask your permission in advance to use these cookies. You can therefore refuse these cookies from being placed on your device by setting your cookie preferences. In Chapter 5 you can read how you can manage your cookie settings.

To be clear: even if you have not given your consent for these cookies, you will still see advertising on our websites or in our apps. That advertisement will probably be less relevant because it is not tailored to your likely interests. So we leave it to you to choose whether or not you will see 'tailor-made' advertisements.

Commercial cookies

In addition to Yucca, it is also possible that third parties (e.g. advertising partners) place cookies that track your clicking and surfing behavior on our websites and/or apps. With the cookies and tools of the advertising network of our partners, we can also show you advertisements for Yucca products and services that you may be interested in on the websites that are part of those networks (retargeting).

It is also possible that third parties place cookies for their own marketing purposes. This way they can track your clicking and surfing behavior and show you personalized advertisements for their own products or products of their partners based on this. These so-called third-party cookies are managed entirely by third parties and Yucca has no control over the way in which these third parties manage the relevant cookies and use the data collected in this way. You can read more information about this in Chapter 2 of this cookie policy.

Finally, Yucca may also pass on the collected data (click and surfing behavior) to other parties within the Yucca Group or external partners to offer you personalized advertisements for their products. You can consult the list of our external partners here. Yucca ensures that these partners do not receive any data with which they can directly recognize you, such as your name or email address.

We also ask your permission in advance for the use of these cookies. You can therefore refuse these cookies from being placed on your device by setting your cookie preferences. In Chapter 5 you can read how you can manage your cookie settings.

To be clear: even if you have not given your consent for these cookies, you will still see advertising messages, both on our websites and on those third parties. Those advertisements will probably be less relevant, as they are not tailored to your likely interests. But the choice is entirely yours whether or not to receive 'custom' advertisements.

Social Media cookies

These cookies ensure optimal interaction with social media such as YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. e.g. to enable certain functions on our websites and apps, such as the Twitter 'Tweet' button, LinkedIn 'Share' button, playing a video on YouTube, etc.

These cookies do not give us access to your social media accounts or the data you store within them.

The use or interaction with social media buttons or functions is subject to the social media channel's own rules. Yucca has no influence whatsoever over the social media channel with regard to the collection of your personal data (e.g. your IP address) and information about your surfing behavior for purposes specific to these third parties (direct marketing, analytical studies or market research, building user profiles, etc.). ). We recommend that you consult the terms of use and privacy policy of the relevant social media network to understand how the network handles your personal data.

We ask your permission in advance to use social media cookies. You can therefore refuse these cookies from being placed on your device by setting your cookie preferences. In Chapter 5 you can read how you can manage your cookie settings.

How long do cookies last?

Based on the lifespan of the cookies, we also make a distinction between temporary and permanent cookies:

Temporary cookies: these cookies are temporarily stored in your browser or mobile app. As soon as the browser or mobile app is closed, these cookies are automatically deleted.

Permanent cookies: these cookies remain on your computer, tablet or smartphone, even if you have already closed your browser or mobile app. These cookies allow us to recognize you when you visit our website or mobile app at a later time. Persistent cookies remain on your device until their expiration date is reached, until a new version of the cookie is installed, or until you delete them yourself via the settings of your browser or mobile app.

How can you manage your cookie settings?

We give you the opportunity to determine for yourself to what extent we can use your cookies. Accepting cookies does not mean that you can be directly identified, unless you have provided us with information that allows you to be directly identified, such as information related to registration (e.g. when you register in a private area and create a login) .

You can indicate your cookie preferences in these ways:

During your first visit:

When you visit one of our websites or mobile apps for the first time, you will be notified to make your choice regarding cookies via a cookie banner. You will be given the choice to accept or adjust the recommended cookies based on your preferences. If you do not opt for the recommended cookies, a second screen will appear where you can choose which type of cookies (accompanied by a short explanation) you wish to accept and which you do not.

As long as you have not made a choice, the default cookie setting is “category 1: Functionally necessary and analytical cookies”. This category of cookies is set by default and cannot be adjusted, because this compromises the proper functioning of the website or mobile app.

If there are important changes to the cookie policy or to the cookies placed on our websites/mobile apps, you will automatically be given the opportunity to adjust your settings via the cookie banner. If nothing changes, you will receive a reminder about your cookie preferences once a year.

After your first visit:

If you visit our website or mobile app after indicating your cookie preferences during a first visit on the same device, you will no longer see a cookie banner (unless your consent is no longer valid or there are significant changes to the cookie policy or to the cookies placed ).

However, you retain full control over your cookie settings: you can adjust your cookie preferences at any later time by clicking on the 'cookie settings' button at the bottom of our websites or in the mobile app settings.

In your browser settings

Most web browsers are configured by default to automatically accept cookies. You can change your browser settings at any time by adjusting preferences that allow or refuse all or certain cookies, delete cookies already stored or notify you when a cookie has been placed.

Each type of browser has its own settings for managing cookies. You can find the information on the website of the browser you are using. Please note that changing the settings may cause some elements on the Yucca websites and other websites to no longer function optimally. The same goes for the mobile apps.

Who can I contact with questions or complaints regarding cookies?

We recommend that you read this cookie policy together with the Yucca privacy policy. Here you will find information about what data we collect, why we do it, how long we keep it, what your privacy rights are and how you can exercise them.

If you have any questions about our cookie policy or have a complaint about this, you can contact our Data Protection Officer ('DPO'). You can register your complaint via our Contact form.
